Known for his work with iconic producers like Rombauer and La Crema, Rob created the Lloyd label to pursue the styles he’s most passionate about – rich, fruit-forward wines with serious structure and presence.

Each vintage is crafted with purpose, using premium grapes from California’s top AVAs and longtime vineyard partners. These wines are unapologetically bold and built to impress, whether you’re pairing them with dinner or pouring a glass on their own. We work with some of the most respected growers in the state – relationships Rob has cultivated over decades in the industry. These vineyards, located in premier AVAs, are essential to the bold, expressive character of Lloyd wines.

Carneros

Chardonnay

Our Lloyd Chardonnay is sourced from the esteemed Sangiacomo Vineyards, a cornerstone of Rob’s winemaking for more than two decades. Situated in the cool southern edge of the Carneros AVA, where fog and breeze from the San Pablo Bay preserve acidity, these vineyards produce grapes with vibrant citrus, layered minerality, and just enough richness to support a generous oak program.

Rob has worked with the Sangiacomo family since his early days at La Crema, and he continues to choose these vineyards for their consistency, precision farming, and unmatched quality. The result: a bold, buttery Chardonnay with lift, structure, and a long, satisfying finish.

Sta. Rita Hills

Pinot Noir

Our Lloyd Pinot Noir is crafted from grapes grown at the Rio Vista and La Niña Vineyards in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA – one of California’s most exciting Pinot Noir regions. Located in Santa Barbara County, Sta. Rita Hills benefits from a transverse mountain range that channels cool Pacific air across the vineyards, creating a long growing season perfect for Pinot.

These vineyards produce deeply flavored Pinot Noir with notes of dark cherry, blackberry, and spice, supported by firm tannins and balanced acidity. Rob chose these sites for their ability to deliver bold, concentrated flavors while retaining the elegance and finesse that define world-class Pinot Noir.

Built for Every Occasion.

While bold Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are the foundation of Lloyd by Robert Lloyd, Rob also crafts small-lot wines that speak to a specific moment in the vineyard or an inspired winemaking experiment.

In 2025, we’re releasing two of these rare gems: a vibrant Carneros Sauvignon Blanc, fermented in stainless steel, a single barrel, and a cement egg for layered texture and aromatic lift. Also on the horizon is a crisp, dry Rosé made from Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir, offering a burst of red berry, citrus, and coastal minerality.

These wines are produced in extremely limited quantities – often just a few hundred cases – and are made available first to our wine club members and subscribers. If you want in, now’s the time to get on the list.
