Bring bold California flavor to your grill this summer with cedar-planked salmon finished in lemon-dill butter. This rich and smoky dish is built to stand up to our big, oaky Lloyd Chardonnay. It’s backyard barbecue elevated—with a wine to match.

Ingredients

1 lb salmon fillet, skin-on

1 untreated cedar plank, soaked in water for 1 hour

2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped

1 tsp lemon zest

1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Salt and freshly cracked pepper

Preparation

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix butter, dill, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  3. Pat salmon dry, season with salt and pepper.
  4. Place cedar plank on grill for 2 minutes to char slightly, then flip.
  5. Place salmon skin-side down on the charred side of the plank.
  6. Grill with the lid closed for 12–15 minutes or until salmon flakes easily.
  7. Top with lemon-dill butter and serve immediately with a chilled glass of Lloyd Chardonnay.
